Group Workshop
Stacy Park is designated an “Urban Night Sky Place” by DarkSky International (one of our available Charitable Organizations for our 5% donation).
The park offers relatively dark skies, considering its proximity to the city. It’s a great, convenient location for beginners or experienced astrophotographers to practice and test out new gear/techniques.
This is an excellent Workshop to learn and practice astrophotography in the field with an experienced photographer.

What You Should Bring:
Required:
Camera (with Manual Mode)
“Point and Shoot” or “Bridge” Cameras are NOT recommended for this workshop.
Lenses
We can support lenses of any size. However, we suggest a lens between 14-24mm, with an aperture of f/2.8 or faster. Higher apertures can work, and you may desire longer focal lengths (only suggested if you’ve done Astro before).
If you’re unsure whether you have an adequate lens, please reach out to us, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Private Workshop
Experience the same great Workshop but with one-on-one guidance.
Benefits of Private Workshops:
Additional time - We will arrive on location earlier to have more time to set up and discuss composition & focusing.
It’s all about you! Tailored locations throughout the park, angles, etc., based solely on your preferences.
Instruction and guidance are specific to your photography style, goals, gear, and preferred setup.
Distances from the subject are based on your focal lengths, not the group. This can sometimes be tricky in group astrophotography if there are differences in focal lengths. Wide-angle lenses have more opportunity to have someone else (or their gear) in frame.
There’s a greater opportunity for teaching time in the field.
We can be more agile and get to different locations/angles without a larger group.
